Open-source Sonos apps
I've also documented all the local endpoints of the sonos speakers. Actually the documentation is one of the products of the documentation generator.

Which devices can you use the Sonos HTTP API for?
EDIT** Also, saw this SoCo API: https://github.com/SoCo/SoCo
-
Open AirPlay 2 Receiver
Not sure if you mean that, but the Sonos S1 interface has been reverse-engineered, see here:
https://github.com/SoCo/SoCo
https://github.com/jishi/node-sonos-http-api
This allows you to e.g. set the Sonos speakers to play any audio URI.

App will not connect unless I enable location (2021)
I gave no idea how to find you, but there are numerous open source sonos clients such as https://github.com/SoCo/SoCo out there that use the sonos API without requiring location services.
- Use Sonos as a siren for home security

This has to be a reoccurring question so this is a warning for the redundancy: question about using Remote to control multiple speakers
This is possible to do but requires some programming using Python and the SoCo library https://github.com/SoCo/SoCo
-
Retrieving current playback status from Sonos web interface
SoCo is, to the best of my knowledge, the best supported Python library for controlling Sonos speakers.

Streaming pipewire/pipewire-pulse desktop audio to a sonos speaker
The sonos ecosystem is pretty locked down, but I found this really neat Python library and this CLI wrapper tool to control it, which is awesome! It makes it super easy to play any audio stream on the speaker, and I already used this for a little script for my dad to play some music that he only has locally as .mp3 files :)

Can we automate sub audio level adjustments?
I wrote Python scripts using SoCo https://github.com/SoCo/SoCo
