Obsidian Release v1.0.0
I am a bit confused by how the terminology around tabs, panes, windows has evolved, and how this interacts with plugins such as sliding panes and pane relief
- bug in new update of "sliding panes" plugin - how do i report?

Those writing extensively on note-writing rarely have a serious context of use
This is similar to being able to open a book at some location while reading another book and put them side by side for syntopic reading.

Has Cortex helped your productivity?
The core thing Obsidian does (technically did, as it inspired me to make my own note writing app) is that it removes the friction of brain dumping multiple streams of thought at once. If writing on one topic makes me think of another, I can link to it easily and see both side by side. I really liked the Sliding Panels plugin. It lets you have many notes open at once while still giving you good readability and accessibility. It let me really dive into whatever tangent found my brain's interest while writing without ever getting lost.

You can use Advanced Tables Plugin. Very useful for formating, sorting, and other utilities for tables on markdown format: https://github.com/tgrosinger/advanced-tables-obsidian

Recently migrated from Notion to Obsidian
Before they breathed new life into that project I used the following to better manage tables: - https://github.com/tgrosinger/advanced-tables-obsidian - https://github.com/ganesshkumar/obsidian-excel-to-markdown-table

Show HN: Sheet Markup – add spreadsheets to a Markdown document
I use advanced tables[0] and Excel to markdown tables[1] plugins - they make working with tables in Obsidian a bit easier.
That said, I think tables are markdown's Achilles heel - anything involving multi-line content starts to make things complicated.

What are some must have plugins for beginners with Obsidian
I really like make.md for its powerful and simplified design. Advanced Tables and Excel to markdown table are great if you are working with tables a lot and also "smaller" plugins like paste url into selection and tag wragler really can make your life easier.

What do you guys think about the way Obsidian handles tables? I spent 20 mins trying to figure out why these last two rows wouldn't render, but it looked fine in Typora.
As usual you've probably got to rely on plugins. [Table Enhancer](https://github.com/Stardusten/ob-table-enhancer) isn't released yet, but it's very usable. I used to use [Advanced Tables](https://github.com/tgrosinger/advanced-tables-obsidian) but Table Enhancer is better, so I only use it to auto-format the markdown now.
