Ross's radial menu app launcher idea made a reality as part of the ROSS Shell project!
Last year Ross Scott made a critique on the GUI of computers today. The video inspired me and a few others to start the ROSS Shell project in order to research and try to solve the problems mentioned. One of Ross's ideas was to have a radial menu app launcher where you can fling your mouse for maximum efficiency and speed. As you can see in the video, we have developed such an ApplicationLauncher for Linux! It is available on GitHub here. If you want to install it then follow the instructions from the GitHub wiki. Contributions are of course welcome!
