Any typographers or font creators here? I need help with a project!
As you may or may not know from the last year or so I recreated the old weather channel that Shaw/Videon had in Winnipeg back in the 80s/90s and beyond. The project is fully open source but is missing one key component. An accurate recreation of the font.
-
The first wind chill of the season reached 1080 at 6am this morning, tonight expected to be higher
It's on my YouTube, and this is the current stream :)
-
Winnipeg's faithfully recreated 80s/90s weather channel is now LIVE 24/7 thanks to /u/lesnet
However, that has now changed and it is now running on my YouTube channel 24/7! You can get your boost of nostalgia at any time and you get to listen to some chill music whilst you do it.
- I recreated Winnipeg's 80s-90s cable weather channel using Node and your browser
-
I wasn't able to find an exact match font but the classic weather channel (as of 1995) is (intermittently) live again!
This project is open source on GitHub so anybody with a browser (and NodeJS) will be able to run their own weather channel! It supports all currently running weather stations across Canada and you can set it up to run from your local weather station very easily.

Open weather station hardware with an actix-web backend. Any feedback welcome!
This is exactly the kind of feedback I need. Thank you for pointing out quite an oversight. I've opened a GitHub issue to address this!
- Open ESP8266 weather station hardware with Rust backend and Vue PWA
-
An esp8266 based weather station
Might pair well with this rust backend + pwa web app using ESP8266's (though the API is really hardware agnostic): https://github.com/codi-hacks/weather-station
