restyle VS react-native-ui-kitten

I’ve just rebuilt my React Native app template with shopify restyle and Expo 48.

I use Restyle https://shopify.github.io/restyle/ since I discovered it, my code is so much cleaner. I have tried NativeBase before, it was really good but it has a very bad performance.

Restyle is my personal favorite. It’s strongly inspired by the amazing, albeit a bit outdated, styled-system for web, but is fully type-safe and has amazing customization options.

I personally prefer Restyle

If you are building out your own custom components use restyle https://github.com/Shopify/restyle

Forget CSS pseudo-elements and selectors; in React Native, we inline the styles. The recommended approach is to use a StyleSheet object, but I enjoy using Styled Components in a similar way as on the web. If you are a fan of styled systems, Restyle from Shopify is gaining popularity.

https://akveo.github.io/react-native-ui-kitten/ is a good alternative, i especially like their demo app, I can just refer a client to that and ask them what screens they like.

React Native UI Kitten is a React Native implementation of the Eva Design system. It offers a set of general-purpose UI components styled in the same way to take care of visual appearance. There are a lot of standalone components available as well.
