How we started our database
Now that we had a working battle-proven solution and approval, we kept working on the storage engine and its ecosystem. We promoted the project and grew our community. By September 2022, we already had Client SDKs for C++, Python , JavaScript and an embedded WebConsole. We stopped integrating new features into the experimental version 0 and started planing version 1.0 which should be ready for a commercial usage.

ReductStore CLI Client now in Rust
Today, I'm pleased to announce that we've rewritten the CLI client from Python to Rust. Our primary motivation was distribution. Although Python is one of the most widely used programming languages, we don't want to require users to install an interpreter to use our tools, and standalone installers are too bulky for us. With Rust, we can build compact and blazingly fast executable binaries for most popular platforms.

Hey, I've released version 0.8.0 of Reduct CLI, the Python package for managing data stored in ReductStore. This release includes two new features that will be particularly helpful for our public datasets hosted on ReductStore, where metadata can be used to provide important context for the data.

Once installed, users can access the database through the built-in web console by opening their browser and navigating to http://localhost:8383. Alternatively, they can use the Reduct CLI for more advanced management and querying of the database.

We're excited to announce the release of version 0.4.0 of the Reduct CLI! This release includes a new rcli export folder command that allows you to export data from a bucket in your storage engine to a local folder on your computer.This can be useful if you want to make a copy of your data for backup or offline access. Introducing the mirror command in Reduct CLI version 0.3.0
We are excited to announce the release of Reduct CLI version 0.3.0, which includes the new mirror command for copying data between buckets. The mirror command allows you to easily transfer data between two buckets, regardless of whether they are on the same storage engine or on different storage engines.
