Show HN: ReCalendar β custom calendar generator for ReMarkable and e-ink tablets
Thanks for checking and the kind words!
Yeah, I wish RM allowed "moving" notes from one PDF to a new version of it. But I recently found of a workaround [0]. It requires SSH access, so it's not for everyone. But I'm assuming it's not a problem for HN crowd. I would not be surprised if there's already some hack/software to automate it - or to write a simple script yourself.
Hope this helps!

recalendar.me - create online your personalized calendar PDF for ReMarkable tablets
Thanks for the suggestion - it was also suggested on the original, PHP version: https://github.com/klimeryk/recalendar/issues/7. But there it was much harder to implement, as it's not as easy to reshuffle PHP templates (at least not without significant refactoring). With the new version it should be easier to implement - I'll give it a try this weekend.

ReCalendar - open-source, highly customizable calendar for ReMarkable tablets
It does not - though, it should be quite easy to add that. See this commit on how I added the customizable starting month: https://github.com/klimeryk/recalendar/commit/7dfecd89007aa483e323100c147524b842fb5377

Intro to DOMPDF - lightest and simplest PHP library to generate PDF documents
Generating PDF documents out of your app's HTML output is a very common requirement and there are several open source libraries to accomplish this. I came across this need for my project recently and I evaluated many popular ones such as TCPDF, mpdf, FPDF, etc. But the one that truly stood up to my evaluation in terms of efficiency (minimal footprint) and ease of implementation was DOMPDF.

Choosing a PHP Framework over Core PHP
Writing a piece of code for a problem that has already being solved, tested and approved by other developers slows down the development of an application by a huge amount of time. For instance, trying to create a functionality that enables PDF files to be downloadable on a website is a waste of time when you have a package like mPDF that does that.

Playwright: Automate Chromium, WebKit and Firefox
For PHP-based applications I've used mPDF[0], which generates PDFs from HTML without using a browser. I'm sure it can't handle all the CSS bells/whistles that a "modern" website uses, but it's worked well for me.
