If you’re and engineer and you’re wanting to just dip your toes in or have something to do between interviews, look for open source government projects to contribute to (e.g. https://github.com/uswds/uswds or https://github.com/trussworks/react-uswds). These can be a great way to see what various organizations are contributing to the civic tech space and to see their development philosophy and style.
