react-native-keep-awake VS react-native-sound

componentDidMount() { this.recalcTotalSeconds(); KeepAwake.activate(); this._interval = setInterval(() => { this.step(); }, 999);} It works nicely as long as the phone is unlocked. When the phone is locked the interval is not fired and the sound is not played. As a first measure I uploaded a version with Keep Awake that prevents the screen from locking. I am looking for a battery-friendly solution.

React Native for Web is compatible with many native modules that ship with React Native: Button, Views, TextInput, etc… will be automatically mapped to their web counterparts correctly when imported from react-native. Unfortunately, using other external native libraries like react-native-sound or react-native-keep-awake can be a bit hit-and-miss because many native functionalities are not available on the web.

Try searching GitHub issues with the "loop" keyword. There's one in there where infinitely looping short sounds causes gaps. Maybe as a trouble shooting step try playing a longer mp3 to see if the behavior changes. https://github.com/zmxv/react-native-sound/issues/640

I am building a running app that shows a timer. When the timer reaches 0 seconds a sound is played. I use React Native Sound for playback. I use an interval on componentDidMount for counting the seconds:

I found https://github.com/zmxv/react-native-sound but it's lacking setPitch on iOS (maybe because they are not using AvAudioEngine), is there anyone have tips regarding this? I don't have swift experience

If that is correct, you have not installed `react-native-sound` properly. There is actually a note about this in the installation instructions on the repo: https://github.com/zmxv/react-native-sound#installation (at the bottom)
