Quarkus VS jbang

It's about mobile apps, but I talk about backend at great length, especially since my background is Java. The book is called "opinionated" because I cover Quarkus (https://quarkus.io/), monolith, Fly.io, and no K8s.

Quarkus is a Java based framework tailored for GraalVM and HotSpot, which results in an amazingly fast boot time while having an incredibly low memory footprint. It offers near instant scale up and high density memory utilization which can be very useful for container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes or Serverless runtimes like AWS Lambda.

Quarkus is one of Java frameworks for microservices development and cloud-native deployment. It is developed as container-first stack and working with GraalVM and HotSpot virtual machines (VM).

We are open to practice using any open-source project, however, we want to set a sharp focus on projects maintained by the Red Hat, and our own projects in the Caravana Cloud organization on github. Congratulations. I believe there is room for a micro framework that is smaller than Javalin or SparkJava.

That said, if you want to cash even more on minimalism, you may want to provide a single-file example using JBang[0].

These would be awesome changes and fully in the spirit of what we managed to do already in jbang (https://jbang.dev). Having the verbosity removed would make it even better.

big part of why I made jbang.dev so if you want to quickly play with all the suggested technologies in this thread without being a java build tool master do give it a go.

Quarkus provides the option to create command line apps, and this is so kool, since you can also compile these into native. We are just going to make simple app for demo purpose in this blog. But if you are looking into creating some serious nirvana of cli apps take a look at this guide at quarkus.io using picocli or JBang
