Why don't Flutter plugins repository have issues tab for others can raise the issue?
The Issues tab should be enable same as another repos, such as plus_plugins

Work voluntarily on flutter projects
For example https://github.com/fluttercommunity/plus_plugins which is a fork of some of the plugins in flutter/plugins with some extras and web & desktop support. There's a lot of legacy issues that should be solved, as well you can help to migrate packages to null safety.

[Official] Dio is no longer being maintained.

Thoughts on creating a library with Dart for browser and node
I also had some troubles choosing which Dart HTTP client to use. I've started with dio, but when I tried to read one of our bigger JSON responses (~1.5mb) my browser tab froze (there seems to be an old issue describing the same behavior). After that I've switched to the default dart's http package and it is working fine but it doesn't have builtin requests abort/cancellation.
