which plugin manager are you using?
Does meta plugin manager counts? I wrote my own extensible plugin manager wrap on top of vim-plug that soon will be supporting switching between different plugin managers for easier migration/transition.

which plugin manager are you using?
Personally I don't use any package manager. I have my own home folder hosted on GitHub, there you can see that I have neovim plugins saved as submodules at a given path, and they are sourced at runtime automatically. https://github.com/MuAlphaOmegaEpsilon/home/tree/master/.local/share/nvim/site/pack/git-plugins/start
What are some alternatives?
When comparing plug.nvim and home you can also consider the following projects:
packer.nvim - A use-package inspired plugin manager for Neovim. Uses native packages, supports Luarocks dependencies, written in Lua, allows for expressive config
jet-nvim - (another) plugin manager for neovim
vim-packager - Vim plugin manager that utilizes "jobs" and "pack" features.
dotfiles - collection of scripts
detect-language.nvim - neovim plugin for better language auto-detection, powered by tree-sitter
paq-nvim - 🌚 Neovim package manager
slowly.nvim - Neovim plugin manager where simplicity > speed
dotfiles - A cross-platform, modular dotfiles installer for my personal setup
