Just bought my first Monero today!
It is part of a much bigger ecosystem called Particl. It relies on its own blockchain, which is very similar to Monero's. The main feature of this project is the decentralized, anonymous marketplace, but more dApps are about to come.

With adoption, it will become easier to track someone from their crypto spendings. That’s why privacy tools are important.
emphasis on 'sometimes'... We lost the war on social media and many other facets of digital technology, but we haven't lost it yet with crypto.. not yet. I have hope that some projects like particl.io take off, but it's going to take a lot of talking and understanding. I don't want to just hand big old money people this financial revolution, that would really cause me to lose hope

used to use open-bazaar back in the day, anything like that for monero someone can recommend
particl.io is good but stupid, not so many shops available there. Also there is no lightweight particl market browser, so you have to download thir full software, sync with blockchain and then buy particl token and go to purchase :)
