Unpopular opinion: Obsidian is an excellent Task Manager ( + my setup )
You can use Fantasy Calendar and link task notes to it with frontmatter. Gives you a calendar view of tasks that way. You should be able to colour-code your task per type too

How to place images next to each other
This is pretty simple. Install this: https://github.com/mgmeyers/obsidian-contextual-typography, then in Yaml in any page where you want in image grid or side-by-side, write 'cssClass: img-grid.' Usage is easy. Three images or image links pasted underneath each other no line break creates a three column row of images, two creates two, four creates four. A single line break creates a new row. A double line break takes you out of the grid completely to continue whatever other writing you wanted to do, and you can then freely make another row of images after that.
