Termux is an Android terminal emulator and Linux environment app
If you do like the nix ecosystem (and all its benefits like reproducible envs) or just want to give it a try to a "NixOS" like thingy, you should absolutely try https://github.com/t184256/nix-on-droid. It's somewhat rough, but it's very nice and has nix flakes and home-manager support.

20 Years of Nix
I doubt your setup needed recompiling the Nix binary itself at any point. Even I did that more out of love of adventure than for any practical reasons, it’s just that the scars are still there.
And you know what, the evaluation time thing might just be a bug. Or at least I don’t see any other reason why (e.g.) `nix-shell -p yt-dlp` in my Nix-on-Droid[1] installation works reasonably fast but `nix shell nixpkgs#yt-dlp` takes minutes.

Proot-distro has older Fedora
I don't check the current versions of distributions every day. So if someone find that new release is available, an issue can be opened at https://github.com/termux/proot-distro/issues.

Termux is an Android terminal emulator and Linux environment app
Folks who want a more traditional linux environment and libraries then what termux comes with might find proot-distro[1] to meet their needs. Basically it allows running an actual arm linux distro in a pseudo container created by (ab)using the ptrace syscall to emulate root privileges. This has a fairly big performance impact, but it works if you want to run arbitrary arm linix binaries.

How to create a new user in proot-distro alpine in termux
I just installed proot-distro alpine and logged in with the said command. I want to add a user in it. I read proot-distro help in the termux but it mentions about how to log in as a specific user not about how to add a user. I have also checked termux wiki which says to add user useradd -U -m username but this also gave error. so does any one know how to add a user name in it. for example "john" is the user name i want to add so how do i do that?

Can i gain root access via termux on android?
It is a clickbait. The "root" permission in this video is called proot which is to install a Linux container in Termux. The programs runs in container would think they are running in a real Linux environment.
