This is the problem Iām having with firebase:
It seems like you have a function to initialize firebase, so my next question is how you're initializing it. Normally, with an auth context provider, you'd want to export the app so you can call it in a component, like this.

I want to learn enough React to begin rebuilding my vanilla js projects (calculator app, and wordle clone). What do you recommend? I'd like to spend 3 weeks or less on some course, so I can dive into building stuff.
I am learning from "The Road to React" book by Robin Wietruch and it has gotten me up and running very quickly. The author has a good website with lots of advanced discussion as well: https://www.robinwieruch.de/

Recommendations for quality React.js /WebDev YouTube content creators that help you stay up to date / learn?
I don't know if he makes any YouTube videos, but Robin Wieruch, the guy who wrote Road to React along with a few other great courses, has an incredibly thorough blog that teaches a lot of JS/React/Webpack/etc topics. They're very easy to follow and well-written. His Road to React course is also superb.

Am I misunderstanding how getInitialProps (in _app.js) works?
I have two suggestions off the top of my head: 1) Change App from a function to an arrow function. 2) Extend the App class like this. This is the old way of writing _app.js so it should work.
