Seems like you have tried most of popular and useful foss music player apps Maybe give a try to Music player Go or Music player lite, fork of Music player Go

I tested all FOSS music players and concluded they're all imperfect
Music Player Lite is incomplete with many missing features. It's unusable since it sorts songs in an album in alphabetical order. It has a dropdown menu where you can select the folders (the app has picked up) to exclude, this is way better than navigating through all directories in /sdcard.

I'm embarrassed to admit that despite having had Spotify for years, my music tastes didn't change much.
I switched to albums, and can thankfully pick clients that suit my taste.
