framer/motion VS react-transition-group

At this point, I was already using a tilt component (react-parallax-tilt) in my portfolio, and after checking this page I had the general idea of how it should be done, a container with transform-style: preserve-3d, with two children, one tilt and the other an image, both having backface-visibility: hidden and the tilt being rotated to face backward at the start. For the animation, I decided to use framer-motion because I was already familiar with it and knew it had what was needed to get the job done (and I'm glad I did because later I needed to await the animation and it was easy with framer-motion).

We use the React Transition Group CSSTransition. I think you could also use Framer Motion, but I've never really tested this.

With transitions that come out of the box with React do you mean React-Transition-Group ?

I don't have an answer to your specific question but I do have a recommendation that might help. Take a look at https://reactcommunity.org/react-transition-group/. It's very popular and used by MUI in their animated components. Even if you don't install it, looking at their docs and source code might help you get a better idea of how to do what you want.
