Canon LBP6230dw printer on NixOS
I had the same problem for my Brother printer and yes I finally packaged the driver myself. You might want to check how I did it and take this as an example to start with. It would be great for the NixOS community it you'd made it available in NUR when it's working.

Writing a Flake Library
I've recently finished my first Nix flake project and wanted to take an opportunity to share some of the things I learned in the process. While a lot of documentation exists on what certain things in Nix do, I've found little in the way of how one should use them to construct a project. This left me with several questions:
- GitHub - jmgilman/nixago: Generate configuration files with Nix + CUE
- Nixago – Generate configuration files with Nix and CUE
What are some alternatives?
When comparing nixos and nixago you can also consider the following projects:
nix-rice - A library to functionally define your configuration and theme (rice) with Nix
plasma-manager - Manage KDE Plasma with Home Manager
nix-darwin - nix modules for darwin
gnome-manager - NixOS module for GNOME configuration
Home Manager using Nix - Manage a user environment using Nix [maintainer=@rycee]
dotnix - Personal NixOS & MacOS Configurations
nixos-home - My user setup for [NixOS](nixos.org) Desktops.
nixos-generators - Collection of image builders [maintainer=@Lassulus]
home - Versioning $HOME: NixOS configurations, dotfiles, scripts, etc.
nix-cue - Validate and generate configuration files using Nix and Cue
