Analyzing byte code on the job
In order to support incremental build caches for Maven, on our CI, I wrote a small utility for recording with artifacts are accessed during Maven builds. Saves about a minute each time poms are updated (because default behaviour is to clear the cache, causing downloading of all artifacts again, kinda lame).

Analyzing byte code on the job
I also contribute to Quarkus that made a lot of bytecode generation (bytecode enhancement) at build time (via Maven / Gradle plugin), they uses Gizmo (based on ASM) and it's very easy to generate Java bytecode with it. Gizmo is the most comprehensive bytecode generation library I know (but I'm not an expert on this area), you can have a look at it here: https://github.com/quarkusio/gizmo
