Little File Explorer – ~40KB File Manager for Android 1.0 and Above
Mastodon app is built like that, the release apk is around 3 Mb, ~half of which is resources: https://github.com/mastodon/mastodon-android
Though it's not without compromises — because of Google's stupid policy that "nothing goes into the system unless it needs direct access to privileged or private system components", RecyclerView, ViewPager, and some other basic UI components are still AndroidX libraries that depend on AppCompat for no good reason. I had to fork them to rid them of that dependency: https://github.com/grishka/LiteX

Mastodon's Privacy: Who actually holds your data in Mastodon
I love that Mastodon is decentralized. But as a privacy engineer, I was curious about how their app handles our data compared to what they claim in their privacy policy, so I analyzed their open-source app code in my privacy code scanning tool.
We tried to analyze if the actual application code (which is open-source) actually adheres to the privacy policy as declared by mastodon.social server. Therefore, we ran the Privado privacy scanner on Mastodon’s Android application code.

Signed up for Mastodon today. Have no idea what I'm doing. It's now giving me this error.
this was fixed yesterday, see this issue in the bugtracker: https://github.com/mastodon/mastodon-android/issues/298
- "Kotlin has less overhead and is more maintainable." This is subjective. Are you trying to tell me that there are developers who know Kotlin but don't know Java? Shame on them then.
- For me it's easier to develop new features in a language that doesn't try to outsmart me. Are you trying to tell me that there are developers who know Kotlin but don't know Java? Shame on them then.
- "Its easier to develop new features in Kotlin." For me it's easier to develop new features in a language that I've been using for more than a decade, that doesn't try to outsmart me

Multi App (Waxmoon) was removed for MALWARE
I was wondering why I saw no new updates on this app, so I looked for it and didn't find it anymore on F-droid. I tried to find out what happened, so I found out it was hosted on IzzyOnDroid and that this issue was raised about the app, it said in the end that it had proprietary parts, but most worrying, it had malware inside, so it was taken off.

64-bit apps on F-droid sometimes missing
Those apps come from the izzydroid repo. It would appear he only provides the arm-7a compatible apps, considering most 64-bit devices can 32-bit apps but not the inverse, thus saving costs. You can try to raise a bug report about issues pertaining to your device here: https://gitlab.com/IzzyOnDroid/repo/

No official Mastodon app on fdroid?

Maybe the android app shouldn't have Face ID :D
Might want to report it here, since you'd just think that this is official imo.

FOSS Gallery variant can view hidden files again
Then check their gitlab repo to make sure your apps qualify under the inclusion criteria (I don't think there will be any issues, since yours already pass F-droid's criteria that is stricter). If everything checks out, open an issue using their template, request that your apps be added, and provide the github source links for each one. From here the repo maintainers, if they approve, they will automatically pull the apks from each project's releases page and add them to the repo as they become available.

Foss apps that are only available via play store
Fdroid has very high requirements for apps to be included, and IzzyOnDroid has a few requirements, so some apps agent in either. You can suggest the app to be included in the IzzyOnDroid repo, although check it meets their requirements first.
