There is a program named Keebie that let's you add second (or third....) keyboard to your linux pc, and assign scripts, command,etc to any key you want and make your known macro keyboard.

on Linux I'm using a small python script called keebie which permits me with a second keyboard to launch shell command when pressing a key.
