Cannot run Revanced Extended v18.4X
It implies that MicroG (com.mgoogle.android.gms) is still installed. Have a look into the Safe folder. Optionally, you might diagnose that with this app named AppManager. Uninstall that & reinstall whatever or whoever's MicroG you like. Personally, I'll suggest you to use mMicroG

Unable to turn on Cloud Messaging, not receiving RVE notifications as a result
Yeah, you cant downgrade from mMicroG to Vanced microG but it works the other way around. just FYI these are the only recommended (and safe) microG to use - Vanced microG By Team Vanced(not maintained anymore), VancedMicroG by inotia00(not maintained anymore), mMicroG by inotia00(latest) and microG Services Core (ROMs with no Gapps).

New version of microG with ReVanced compatibility is out now! (replacement for Vanced MicroG)
No, they are not contributing to upstream. The branch has no commit history and unnecessary changes to upstream MicroG with unforseeable side effects. ReVanced is compatible and made in mind with Vanced MicroG hence why Vanced MicroG is recommended. Here is a properly updated version that has the minimum amount of changes from upstream to work with ReVanced: https://github.com/oSumAtrIX/GmsCore. Until it is necessary, this won't be used for ReVanced
