wibar battery widget for laptops with multiple batteries.
Then I improved its reactivity and batteries detection using (lua-dbus-proxy)[https://github.com/stefano-m/lua-dbus_proxy] and (lua-upower-dbus)[https://github.com/stefano-m/lua-upower_dbus]. Usage is the same as above, except for the batteries parameter which is now useless.

Unable to start pulseaudio for dbus-launch awesome in lightdm
I should have clarified what the issue is for PulseAudio more clearly: I'm using an Awesome module to access Pulseaudio via a widget. That widget does so by creating a DBus proxy, but when it attempts to access that proxy, it fails with a "GDBus.Error:org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.ServiceUnknown" error, which states that "the name org.PulseAudio1 was not provided by any .service files." Obviously, this isn't very helpful since I'm not using systemd so I don't have any .service files. This error goes away when I call start-pulseaudio-x11 either before or after Awesome starts up.

Awesome ipc ?
The closest example I know is this module from Stefano Mazzucco checking for org.freedesktop.upower dbus signals (and the associated power widget)
