Can I center the search result while searching?
Could this plugin help in OP's case? https://github.com/smjonas/live-command.nvim, too lazy to try it but that sounds like the command preview feature we've taken for granted by upstreamers' hard work.

Preview for vim-abolish?
Yes, thank you. Although, I've discovered what I think is a bug: https://github.com/smjonas/live-command.nvim/issues/24.

Multiple cursors feature is equivalent of macros with live feedback
Soon, you'll be able to preview any command such as the norm command and macros using a plugin I am working on! Still some work to do to improve the highlighting logic but it's already usable. If you're interested, check it out here: live-command.nvim. Stay tuned for a Reddit post!

First PR using NeoVim, but need help moving forward
inc-rename.nvim uses the LSP rename functionality but provides live preview as well.
- Can I do a "live" rename with nvim-lsp?

Multi-cursor in place renaming symbol with preview
navigator.lua used to override vim.ui.input with guihua.lua input window to provide a GUI prompet for renaming. Inspired by inc-rename plugin smjonas/inc-rename.nvim, now, user can preview rename in the current buffer will be displayed in runtime with navigator.lua.

Neovim now has 'inccommand' preview support for multiple buffers
Thanks for that! Here's a fixed link for our friends on mobile: https://github.com/smjonas/inc-rename.nvim

Is there a plugin that provides a search and replace feature like on most GUI editors?
If you mean LSP renaming, then there is inc-rename.nvim (disclaimer: I am the author of that plugin) which will preview and highlight the new name of variables while you are typing.

I turned the incremental LSP rename command into a plugin
Since so many of you seemed to like my previous post on the incremental preview command (https://www.reddit.com/r/neovim/comments/v3ylyv/incremental_lsp_rename_command_based_on_neovims/), I turned this command into a plugin. The previous code had some bugs which should now be fixed. E.g. if an identifier is found multiple times on the same row, the highlights are correctly applied. Enjoy! https://github.com/smjonas/inc-rename.nvim
