Step 2) Find an app of your choice. I really like Liftoff but some people like connect. I got it from the playstore.

I tried Lemmy over the last weeks but was disappointed about the available mobile apps. Not anymore. Today I found the Liftoff app
maybe the architecture is not supported, maybe some of the downloads here help you: https://github.com/liftoff-app/liftoff/releases/tag/v0.9.19

Reddit is going to remove mods of private communities unless they reopen β βThis is a courtesy notice to let you know that you will lose moderator status in the community by end of week.β
There's also quite a few Lemmy clients/apps, I'm currently using liftoff

Can't get a login to work
So, I signed up to GitHub (never heard of it before today) and got redirected to the Google Play store for an app called Liftoff. It seems to work, I was able to log into my account. I've added a couple meme pages to follow, but I still need to familiarize myself with it

Sync for Lemmy
Thunder [1] is also worth checking out. IMO its UI is even slicker than Sync's, plus it's open source and not ad-supported/freemium. If you ever used Relay for Reddit, you'll feel right at home.

Lemmy Tip: I just updated Thunder and, particularly with tweaking a few settings, it's getting pretty solid
I've been using the Thunder app and keeping an eye on how Lemmy is looking. The app is here: https://github.com/thunder-app/thunder
- FYI Thunder is a Lemmy client that makes for a great Relay replacement

Thunder (Android) - GitHub or IzzyOnDroid - can use an f-droid app for updates, I recommend Neo Store, just make sure you enable the IzzyOnDroid repository.

Update: Relay will continue to operate from July 1st. It will be moving to a subscription model in the coming weeks but, for now, it's available for everyone to use free of charge and ad-free!
Yes, but only via GitHub at the moment. https://github.com/hjiangsu/thunder

1st of July in my timezone and Relay still lives!
You'll have to side-load it (so not via Google play store, so I do not recommend it, unless you know how to keep your phone malware-free) , either from github/hjiangsu/thunder or from Izzyondroid
