Activity is a relative number indicating how actively a project is being developed. Recent commits have higher weight than older ones.
For example, an activity of 9.0 indicates that a project is amongst the top 10% of the most actively developed projects that we are tracking.

A script I sometimes use is a commands repeater https://github.com/jmaczan/spellbook/blob/main/registry/spells/repeat-sh/spell.sh You can specify an interval and a flag to reset/keep the terminal's content after a script invocation

env::set_current_dir() -- is either not functioning as intended or I'm just messing something up
Indeed, utilities like zoxide which operate primarily as a cd replacement don't attempt to change directories via rust code - they create a shell alias that ultimately invokes a shell builtin to do it.

Not sure what you mean by bookmarks, but I use zoxide to quickly jump to frequently used folders.
What are some alternatives?
pyxargs - Command line Python scripting with an xargs-like interface and AWK-like capabilities for data processing and task automation
autojump - A cd command that learns - easily navigate directories from the command line
fuz - Fuzzy search text / notes in the terminal, for any collection of text files
z - z - jump around
stderred - stderr in red
