What is the basic FLOSS way to view the selfhosted content on a TV?
Hmm interesting idea. You actually install jelllyfish on the chromecast itself? I am looking in the project... There is a repo jellyfin/jellyfin-chromecast with code only, no info. Some stuff on how to set up the networking. Docs seem to say you need to have google play store (not f-droid) version of the jellyfin app.

Chromecast problems - can't control, always "idle"
I see from this link ( https://github.com/jellyfin/jellyfin-chromecast/issues/372 ) that the solution should be to switch the jellyfin chromecast setting to unstable. However, when I do this, no media will even begin playing.

What's the correct/non-irritating way to request more eyes on a stalled-out Jellyfin pull request?
After some research, I found this pull request which aims to solve the problem. Specifically, this commit. Unfortunately, after months of back and forth, the PR seems to have stalled out completely.

Definitive list of what is needed for Chromecast support to work in the browser (and why)

[Looking for serious answers] how much happy you are with JF instead of using Plex?
My guess is that it's due to different factors such as device type, Android version, and the type of file being played. There are actually quite a few bugs open on both the Android TV and Chromecast clients. But Here's the bug I'm referring to on Android TV and here's one of the bugs I have when using Chromecast. Both of which are quite annoying.

Change the Chromecast logo
Someone could correct this, BUT I believe that page is defined in the chromecast receiver application: https://github.com/jellyfin/jellyfin-chromecast/blob/master/src/index.html
- Casting stops after exactly 25 minutes

Not on streaming
Right now I’m just loading music to the free VLC app on my iPhone. Though I’ve long thought about setting up my own private cloud streaming server via the open source https://mstream.io but haven’t got around to it yet.

I don't want streaming music, I just want to stream my music
Generally, I hate the experience of streaming from a service. Occasionally to discover, but youtube's good enough for that.
For me, the greatest unsung innovation was the car USB player. That took it from the 10 CD's or so to basically whatever I want, however I want.
As for streaming my music, I was an MPD user for years, but the client/server experience was often fiddly. Once I discovered mstream (one very good web interface, no client/server separation, honors folders) I never had to look back.

Is there any Best self hosted service you're using for music ? Any Suggestion ?
You can give mstream a try

Barebones music server with permalinks
So basically, I need something like mStream or Audioserve that you point at a folder and you can play the mp3s in it. Nothing fancy, I don't need tags, etc. something strictly folder-based. It also needs the ability to link directly to the file. Mousikofidi does this, but I need something for Windows (I know, I know...) Essentially Apache but prettier.
