I went to IOTA's website at https://firefly.iota.org/ Here I have a choice of 2 wallets. One is for the iota coins and the other is for the shimmer coins. I am not sure if that answers your question.

huh? You can transfer shimmer to bitfinex. Claim it to the Shimmer Wallet (get the shimmer version), and then send it to exchange from there.
