Paid ones are grokking the sys design, leet code, youtube etc. While leet code is the worst possible way to interview candidates everyone tests you on leetcode problems because it makes the interviewers job easier :) I interviewed and hired a decent amount of candidates and always asked leetcode questions. Even though I don’t like it, that’s how the companies want to do it.
