Does anyone deeply regret moving abroad?
I have been a member of a group called Internations and have used it for support on less serious things. It's also good for networking and career stuff. https://www.internations.org/

Qatar is quite boring.
Communities: Join one or more. It will keep you busy and entertained. The ones I have know of are InterNations and Qatar Tweetups. Unsure how active they are now. Find your people. Almost all nationalities have associations/groups here in Qatar.

Moving to İstanbul
Istanbul is actually a lot of cities. It takes more than 3 hours from one end to the other end. What really matters is what you want to do in İstanbul. A place close to forests, straits, nightlife, culture, etc. The second important thing is your budget. If you want to close nature, Sariyer is a good option. If you want to party a lot, you must consider Beyoğlu, Beşiktaş or Kadıköy. Except some neighborhoods, even I can't go, İstanbul is a very safe and dynamic city and you'll be very happy if you are young or love historic places. I think you'll get better answers in www.internations.org

Are there any Argentinians currently living in Calgary?
Join Internations. It is an organization for ex-pats to meet others when they move. There is a Calgary chapter. After you join you can attend events (once you’re here), and in the meantime you can see online what other Calgary based members came from Argentina.

international events for people not born here
Check out InterNations.org it’s a community for expats connecting all over the world via local chapters. I hear the Vienna chapter is pretty active. Haven’t been myself in years though
