Here is my theory: https://hiatus-hiatus.github.io/ Togashi's first biggest hiatus was in early 2006 which lasted a year and a half. According to his Wikipedia page, his illness and back pain first started to affect his release consistency in, you guessed it, 2006. Something to note as well are the patterns in which he was releasing chapters before the hiatus. It was clearly more "randomized" as if Togashi was going at his own pace. When compared to the patterns after the hiatus, you could say they were, and are currently, being released in batches. This might be cause to believe Togashi outsourced chapters due to demand/contract, or his assistants could have written the majority of it. Again, just a theory, as I don't have enough time to sort the timeline completely or do more research on his other works in 2006.

The series is more often than not in hiatus. There were 10 chapters released at the end of 2022 but that was the first time we got a chapter in over 3 years.

we tackle an eternal problem- people waiting for Hanger x Hanger. After quick check of Gintama airing dates and consultation with everyone's favorite Hiatus chart it seems to be chapter 280

It wasn't really "swept under the rug", it's just that none of the volunteers decided to work on it. AO3 is entirely run by volunteers, so it's not really anyone's fault that this is taking 14 years to resolve. If you think it's that serious, you can write the code yourself and submit it, but don't take it for granted that this is someone else's responsibility.

Everybody who wants to complain about the horrible nightmare world of AO3 is hereby invited to get off their asses and make their own archive with blackjack and hookers. You can find the code here. You are welcome to use it.

For reference, here's the post that says that a unique IP address can only add one hit per 24 hours. Here's the pull request on github. I'm not sure why the FAQ hasn't been updated to reflect that, but as far as I can tell, the 24 hour system is still in place.

On a related note, Ao3's code is open-source and they're on GitHub, so like, if you're a programming nerd and really want a feature added maybe send a pull request or something.
