If you’ve only ever known of Hanabi as a casual party game, be aware that modern online Hanabi is a very different experience, with a ridiculous skill ceiling. This is largely because the hanab.live website's interface keeps track of everyone’s actions & information, lets you take custom notes, and even review the game history at any time. With the taxing memory component out of the way, everyone can focus their attention on thinking critically about their actions and trying to maximize their chances to win.

Regarding the interface, I think it's pretty hard to understand what's going on/follow moves, and I think an AI could probably be plugged on this interface: https://github.com/Hanabi-Live/hanabi-live which is the interface currently available at https://hanab.live/, the best place to play Hanabi online currently. Plugging to this would also enable you to review games along with viewer's comment with a really insanely great interface, so I think it's worthwhile.
