How do you find underlying addresses or balance/transactions from a Bitcoin xpub, zpub, or ypub address?
Thanks for this. I'd found that website earlier but the Github repo it links to doesn't work and is no longer being maintained: https://github.com/dan-da/hd-wallet-addrs. Also, the Python code on the post doesn't work as the lib has been updated since the post 6 years ago.

does a coin's address change on exodus?
If you have the tx’s from your faucet, you can check if they were sent to addresses belonging to your Xpub using a local, private tool like https://github.com/dan-da/hd-wallet-addrs

A from-scratch tour of Bitcoin in Python
I’ve made something similar in order to learn how everything works and made it into a python library. Everything is in pure python with no dependencies, only std lib. I’ve implemented all the crypto stuff, address generation including HD, transaction serialization and even the bitcoin script. https://github.com/mcdallas/cryptotools
What are some alternatives?
python-hdwallet - Python-based library for the implementation of a hierarchical deterministic wallet generator for more than 140+ multiple cryptocurrencies.
python-ecdsa - pure-python ECDSA signature/verification and ECDH key agreement
hd-wallet-derive - A command-line tool that derives bip32 addresses and private keys.
RsaCtfTool - RSA attack tool (mainly for ctf) - retrieve private key from weak public key and/or uncipher data
bitcoin-dca - DCA tool for automatically buying and withdrawing Bitcoin on Bl3P, Bitvavo, Kraken and Binance
ecdsa-private-key-recovery - A simple library to recover the private key of ECDSA and DSA signatures sharing the same nonce k and therefore having identical signature parameter r
bitcoincashj - A library for working with Bitcoin Cash
awesome-blockchains - A collection about awesome blockchains - open distributed public databases w/ crypto hashes incl. git ;-). Blockchains are the new tulips :tulip::tulip::tulip:. Distributed is the new centralized.
bitcoin-bash-tools - Set of bitcoin-related bash functions
galois - A performant NumPy extension for Galois fields and their applications
import-cli-simple - This the meta package for Pacemaker Community, a Symfony based CLI application that provides import functionality for products, categories, attributes, and attribute-sets. The default format is CSV, adapters for XML are also available. The application can be declaratively extended by additional operations, which can be used to reassemble and execute the existing functionalities according to project-specific requirements. But also completely new commands can be integrated quickly and easily via dependency injection.
badkeys - Tool to find common vulnerabilities in cryptographic public keys
