hattip VS Ts.ED

Let's start up a new project and install these. We will use pnpm, as it is now the best and most loved choice. Also for quick setup, we will use Vite for the client side and HatTip for our backend handler for more convenient readable stream handling.

Then we should install the HatTip adapter for Cloudflare Workers. HatTip is a set of JavaScript libraries for building HTTP server applications that run on many platforms like Node.js, Cloudflare Workers, Vercel, Netlify, Deno, and more. Rakkas relies on it for serverless support.

Rakkas 0.6 is now built on HatTip, an HTTP server library that abstracts away the differences between various JavaScript runtimes building on the web standards like Request, Response, and streams. Rakkas already ran on Node, Vercel Serverless Functions, Netlify Functions, and Cloudflare Workers. HatTip integration adds support for Vercel Edge, and Netlify Edge. There's also preliminary support for Deno (including Deno Deploy). Bun support is work in progress.

HatTip[1] just added preliminary Bun support[2].

(HatTip's goal is to enable users (and library authors) to write universal server code that runs anywhere: Node.js, Edge, Deno, Bun, ...)

Ts.ED - Controller-based (DI supporting) backend framework that seems to offer quite a lot (although I'm wary of it being quite close to Nest.js)

As a developer, it's always important to find ways to streamline the development process and save time. For the past two years, I've been using Ts.ED as the framework for all of my applications and it's been a game-changer. Not only has it allowed me to gain back lost development time, but it's also been the foundation for my open-source project HighScore.

Because of this, I decided to create a base template of a REST API created with NodeJS, using Ts.ED as the base framework and TypeScript as the programming language. This template tries to follow the principles of Domain Driven Design and implements a Clean Architecture/Hexagonal Architecture to try to rely as little as possible on the infrastructure and the framework while keeping in mind at all times the language and the needs of the business logic.

I'd also love to shout out Ts.ED which is another great Typescript framework that I've written production applications with. It's a natural fit for anyone who loves .NET applications, it's why I chose it.
