Fades behaving oddly while using ACES color management
My output look and display transforms tend to be either the manufacturer provided LUT (if I work with ALEXA footage I like to use their LUTs), FilmConvert to Cineon and Cineon to ACES as a frankenstein LMT or just using the ACES RRT+ODT. I like to use this gamut compression before the ACES output transform in the node tree because saturated colors (especially blue and magenta) can be very ugly otherwise.

Another approach could be to apply your IDT as an Input Lut (That's how I do it and it's been working for me), but you would need a color space specific DCTL for that. May be worth looking into this awesome DCTL generator or Paul Dore's Github to make your own.
