RPC libraries?
Could you share any impressions with CL RPC libraries? So far frpc2 seems promising, though it has not been changed in 6 years.

RPC libraries?
If yes, then https://github.com/brown/swank-client + https://github.com/brown/swank-crew should do the trick.

We Need Lisp Machines
> Honest question: how do you communicate between two Lisp processes on two different machines?
Depends what level of integration you want: custom tcp/udp protocols, HTTP and websockets are all pretty easy. But, you can also use something like this over a trusted network/vpn: https://github.com/brown/swank-client

Does this project exist? + Lisp interaction recommendations
I assume you mean with swank/slynk, as slime is the client code implemented with emacs. A quick search reveals https://github.com/brown/swank-client which could aid in that. Im tempted to suggest running them in the same lisp instance, but with large and complexe projects that would probably be more headache than its worth.
What are some alternatives?
When comparing frpc2 and swank-client you can also consider the following projects:

swank-gauche - Swank implementation for Gauche scheme
