11 of the Best Open-Source Kubernetes Tools - 2021 Edition
While not strictly a Kubernetes extension, I find navigating the YAML farm can lead me to losing track of where I left off. Where was I in my 2,000 line configuration file again? That's when Footsteps shines a light on where my short-term memory has lost its footing. This brilliant extension, also for VSCode or its equivalents, will show you where you most recently edited a document through highlighted text. As you continue to edit code, Footsteps slowly fades those colors away, giving you a sense of your coding pattern. Install this and save yourself quite a few moments of feeling lost.

Which distro should I choose (Kubernetes)?
For a GUI I would recommend running https://github.com/kubernetes/dashboard in your cluster, but most cloud providers will have their own dashboard solution (Google cloud) or host this for you (digitalocean does this).

Building a bare-metal Kubernetes cluster on Raspberry Pi
Important: Since the dashboard can control the cluster, you may need to create a Service Account to obtain an access token and login to your dashboard. This seems like a good default, since we don't want anyone to be able to control the cluster just like that.

Enable Kubernetes Metrics Server on Docker Desktop
You can also use Kubernetes Dashboard to view the above data (and more information) in a web UI. It allows users to manage applications running in the cluster and troubleshoot them, as well as manage the cluster itself.

Install and access the K8s Web UI Dashboard on a K3s cluster
This URL includes the version number, so you will want to double check that it is up-to-date when following the instruction. The latest version will show up at the K8s dashboard latest release page.

Kubernetes projects like Minikube come out of the box with a sleek and straightforward GUI called Dashboard. It is an excellent read-focused view of the environment, but what if you want to do everything from a UI?
