What are some plugins that you can't live without?

Neovide Lags. Should I do something in order to prevent it . Or it's just how it is....
For automatic and probably instant split resizing, you could use focus.nvim or something similar. Or just resize using Neovim (keyboard) commands, which probably would also not lag.

Increase left padding when there is only one file opened?
Been searching around, and found zen-mode and focus.nvim but they don't really fix my specific use case. Some even suggested to have the file explorer opened to act as the left padding.

PSA: Plugin developers, please notify your users when adding a dependency that creates a breaking change.
I mean... yeah? I write vim plugins, see focus.nvim

Focus.nvim has been recently updated to add even more awesome features that make vim splits an absolute joy to work with + heads up on breaking change
For those that haven't heard of focus, a quick TLDR.. if you love using vim splits, you will find focus.nvim makes your life with splits just that little bit better. The core feature of focus is auto-resizing splits, when moving between them the currently focused window will be resized to take up more of the screen. It's even more awesome now thanks to #1 below. Or maybe see some demo gifs here.

Focus splits using mouse
Hmm, perhaps this can be an addition to focus.nvim ..maybe add some options and enhancements to make it work better
-
Why use splits?
You can also get auto-resizing splits like in this little thing I wrote focus.nvim

I use the default file browser in vim (netrw). I know there are plugins that a lot of people like. Should I switch?
I personally use nerdtree. Add nerdtree-git-plugin too, that's nice when looking at your project (for files, use vim-gitgutter).

Margin indicator for Neovim
That said, Neovim can still run most Vimscript plugins just fine, so you can still use https://github.com/chrisbra/changesPlugin (and https://github.com/airblade/vim-gitgutter and https://github.com/mhinz/vim-signify/, which are mentioned in the README) if you want.

:DiffOrig changes reflected in sign column
vim-signify or git gutter can do this for files managed by git.

What "new-to-you" tool did you recently start using that just changed your workflow for the better?
https://github.com/tpope/vim-fugitive https://github.com/airblade/vim-gitgutter Since your already on neovim these plugins are excellent for git integration within vim! You may just prefer lazygit but having a tight integration in editor is definitely really nice for my personal workflow. Your approach is more unix-y where you have a tool for each job though!

Are there plugins for Neovim that don't exist, that should exist, in your opinion?
vim-gitgutter supports staging/undoing hunks and a hunk text object. I find it convenient for this exact workflow.
What are some alternatives?
switch.vim - A simple Vim plugin to switch segments of text with predefined replacements
vim-fugitive - fugitive.vim: A Git wrapper so awesome, it should be illegal
zen-mode.nvim - 🧘 Distraction-free coding for Neovim
nvim-tree.lua - A file explorer tree for neovim written in lua
alacritty - A cross-platform, OpenGL terminal emulator.
gitsigns.nvim - Git integration for buffers
NeoZoom.lua - A simple usecase of floating window to help you focus.
vim-signify - :heavy_plus_sign: Show a diff using Vim its sign column.
virt-column.nvim - Display a character as the colorcolumn
nvim-treesitter - Nvim Treesitter configurations and abstraction layer
Dotfiles - Well documented awesome dotfiles 😍 Many neovim lua configs, handy zsh/bash functions, fzf functions + more
lualine.nvim - A blazing fast and easy to configure neovim statusline plugin written in pure lua.
