clone the project from github. In android studio, you can do file->new project from version control -> paste https url from code button in target project's github (https://github.com/AmolGangadhare/flutter_barcode_scanner.git)

Java vs Flutter/Dart ?
The app did also play audio files and implementing the audio player using a foreground service and connecting to the MediaSession API for system controls was a real pain (ended up building a plugin here: https://github.com/Kwasow/flutter_audio_as_service). All the available solutions didn't start a foreground service and ended up dying after some time.
