TTRPG, YAML, and Pathfinder 1e Bestiary Escape Help
Hi all, this is a pretty niche issue in the TTRPG space but I know the folks that can assist are out there in this sub. I recently picked up the Pathfinder 1e Bestiary repository from github. I imported the relevant content and it's lovely but needs a couple of bug fixes. It relies on a plugin called Fantasy Statblocks, which renders what I believe is YAML identified between markers into statblocks. Example:
-
In over my head with dataviewjs, tags, and json
Pass those results into the Fantasy Statblock plugin

Obsidian, Genuinely the Best Free Program for WorldBuilding and How to Use it!
TTRPG Statblocks lets you create statblocks for different game systems and it works without issues, you can add images, it does the math for you and I can't recommend it enough. link

[Request] High Res, Easy Statblock Maker
If you happen to use Obsidian.md for your campaign notes, there's a plugin for it (https://github.com/valentine195/obsidian-5e-statblocks) that will make statblocks for you. I believe it also contains premade ones for the creatures in the 5e monster manual.

-
Do you use code blocks created with backticks for different things than code blocks created with tabs?
Also, plugins like admonitions or 5e statblocks (or my own 13th Age statblocks) use this to take YAML inside a code block and render it as something completely different.

How do you create a block code to display (#) tagged quotes.
They mention things (which may be plugins) such as Dice Roll and Spotlight. I never tried those but maybe they help randomize information. Here's info on the "Dice Roll" plugin .. https://github.com/valentine195/obsidian-dice-roller

Obsidian, Genuinely the Best Free Program for WorldBuilding and How to Use it!
Dice Roller its like the perfect situation for any ttrpg, create formulas, use all kinds of dice, it's great. This can even be implemented into a file so a button can be clicked and the formula is rolled or it can be done in the side panel. link
