I am of the "many worlds possible, welcome" school and NOT of the "rule the world - there only can be one". My favorite text-based structed data format is usually a custom text format, see Football.TXT as an example https://github.com/openfootball/england/blob/master/2019-20/1-premierleague.txt. Way more human than all the yaml, json, csv, etc. alternatives.
