Phantom OS: not an alt-prog, but an alt-OS; using Java-derived software in a persistent state.
The lead author appears to have shifted focus in recent months from this, to an r/openttd Java-fork @ https://github.com/dzavalishin/jdrive ; dunno where this leaves this project, presently.

Game Looping
I am making an open-source game: https://github.com/davidalmarinho/Java2dGame based on GamesWithGabe Geometry Dash's series https://youtu.be/K0WrOYaX-TI, which are really nice, I am learning a lot of new things, like AssetPool, Entity Component System... And the best is that he explains the concepts in a very nice way.
