Potential Purchase for a K8s Cluster, thoughts?
I have a perfect example of that. First, did you build your own unifi controller docker image, or are you using someone else's docker image like this one from linuxserver?

My (slightly) modified LSIO docker images,
it's also because of the overlayfs bug. The change to load during init dropped my "startup" time on the container from 5+min to something like 9seconds. With how widespread that bug is, this was a pretty huge fix for our intended audience. https://github.com/linuxserver/docker-unifi-controller/pull/118

Migrating from UCK (Gen1) to Docker
I plan on migrating off the UCK over to a Docker container (https://github.com/linuxserver/docker-unifi-controller) going forward. Now, the docker HOST lives in a different VLAN than the current UCK. UCK is in 192.168.1.x and the Docker host is in 192.168.3.x. I planned on making some firewall rules beforehand to allow the needed traffic to reach the host and back to my UniFi gear (USG4, 2x UAP-AC-PROs, US-8-150w, 2x USW-FLEX-MINI) so they can adopt and whatnot.

Unifi question
I've got my unifi controller running inside docker (https://github.com/linuxserver/docker-unifi-controller)

Trying to setup Unifi Network docker, but get error message when entering credentials
Trying with a second account resulted in the same error. I also tried with both 'https://github.com/jacobalberty/unifi-docker' and 'https://github.com/linuxserver/docker-unifi-controller' and they each give the same error.

If I buy unifi WAP, I would need something like pfsense and the unifi controller?
Hello, I am intrested in running a virtual machine pfsense on proxmox with a unifi 6 long range, and im wondering if I would still need/find the unifi controller useful, and if something like https://github.com/linuxserver/docker-unifi-controller would suffice, since I already have home server. and also is the unifi controller also have router functionality? because while browsing through the web UI, I found things like firewall settings.

Show HN: Open-source private home security camera system (end-to-end encryption)
Did you look into Scrypted? It is OSS. With HomeKit (which is how I use it) it is also E2EE. I’m not sure if their app is E2EE though, I only use HomeKit.
It’s pretty good and has an extensive ecosystem. The dev can be a bit… feisty though.
It’s very performant and easy to setup. I don’t use the NVR features as I already have an NVR, I essentially just use it for HomeKit integration of my cameras + doorbell.

Tapo C100 connected to Homekit have stopped recording?
I have taken a look at the page for debugging steps for Homekit recording and haven’t played with any setting mentioned there.

Matter 1.2 Arrives with Nine New Device Types and Improvements Across the Board
Unfortunately the options for HKSV doorbells is fairly limited. The Logitech circle view Doorbell looks like the best candidate but it has a spotty review history, with the biggest complaint being it breaking in direct sunlight.
I’m about to buy some cameras and I’m thinking of just buying Nest and using https://scrypted.app to bridge to HKSV.

Delivery Vault camera
In the demo video linked to from the Scrypted Github repo, the author has some kind of a delivery box (visible in the top camera), with a camera inside the box in night vision mode, able to report on whether there’s anything in the box. Does anyone know how this setup was achieved, or have done something similar to combine a camera with a closed delivery box?

Looking to get into Scrypted...

Do your cameras actually "work" on homebridge (on HomeKit)?
You might want to try setting them up with Scrypted then use the plugin to get them into Homebridge.
What are some alternatives?
docker-baseimage-ubuntu
frigate - NVR with realtime local object detection for IP cameras
docker-omada-controller - Docker image to run TP-Link Omada Controller
homebridge - HomeKit support for the impatient.
unifi-docker - Unifi Docker files
homebridge-camera-ui - Homebridge plugin for RTSP Cameras with HSV, motion detection support, Image Rekognition, Web UI to manage/watch streams and WebApp support
