Docker and dedicated user
If you *really* want to make your own containers with PUID/PGID support checkout "S6-overlay" and the linuxserver "baseimage". Somewhere in the startup they end up running:
- chown: changing ownership of '/xxx': Operation not permitted
- How does PUID/PGID actually work in docker
-
[Docker] 7 days to die server using LinuxGSM with backups, monitor, auto-installable mods and more
Linuxserver Base Image - For the user script.
-
Linuxserver.io
LISO also builds on it's base images that utlize S6, but couldn't find if Hotio has anything as it's documentation is barebones: https://github.com/linuxserver/docker-baseimage-ubuntu https://github.com/just-containers/s6-overlay
Docker-7DaysToDie
- Can't connect to server.

Docker Noob trying to set up 7-Days-2-Die server. How to change config files?
I am currently using the portainer GUI to set up a stack-based yaml file, listed below (and recommended by vinanrra):

7D2D Docker server and custom number of cities
I've been using a docker container for running 7 Days to die server for the past few alphas (shoutout to https://github.com/vinanrra/Docker-7DaysToDie for putting it together) but recently wanted to try increasing the number of cities.
What are some alternatives?
s6-overlay - s6 overlay for containers (includes execline, s6-linux-utils & a custom init)
7dtd-server - Provides a dedicated linux server for 7 Days to Die running inside a Docker container.
