docker-airconnect VS owntone-server

There are a few dockers that seem to be able to do what you want. Some can stream local audio to airplay devices what might work with a bit of scripting for your white noise and others might work as a Chromecast to Airplay bridge https://github.com/philippe44/AirConnect https://github.com/1activegeek/docker-airconnect

they will if you install air connect on a pc or a docker instance https://github.com/1activegeek/docker-airconnect . it’s not ideal but it’s how i did it with my playbar for a long time.

This was my only hang up with switching from Spotify. I have so many Google home devices that I couldn’t easily connect to. But I recently came across AirConnect. I have a small server that runs Docker and with this up and running, every speaker in my house is now an Airplay speaker. Sucks that a workaround was needed but this was a good compromise for now.

There is airconnect (https://github.com/1activegeek/docker-airconnect) but it only works with audio

Check out OwnTone former daap, https://github.com/owntone/owntone-server it simply browses the dir, can play playlists but will do just folder(s) play too. As a bonus it can airplay/cast.

I set this up after stumbling on it - https://github.com/owntone/owntone-server and it solves a lot of my issues.
