You can look up TPS as measured by an independent party on: https://realtps.net/ They don't have ICP there yet but ICP TPS can be seen on: https://internetcomputer.org/ and go to the ICP dashboard. The TPS includes query and update. Some controversy exists on whether to include both, but either way ICP is at least 5X faster TPS than Solana.

That's to bad that you have that perception, clearly without having any understanding what the Internet Computer is you would come to that conclusion. But if you want to check out some real projects built on ICP, visit InternetComputer.org. Keep in mind, however, that, on the facade, those projects are pretty much like any other site on the web.

The Internet Computer[0] hosts whatever kind of service you can cram in a smart contract form-factor. In exchange for having to deal with things like oracles to retrieve information from the outside world, it costs absolute peanuts[1]. I tend to use it whenever I want to PoC a web app frontend because it's usually lower-friction than a VM. Unfortunately there aren't that many things to show as an example that aren't just NFT silliness, but one big one is OpenChat[2], which also shows off the basically zero-friction single-sign-on[3] that can't be tracked across services.

Will it pan out? I have no earthly idea. But it's cool enough to try.

While creating these tutorials, I choose Ethereum Name Service as an example, because it's a famous project, and quite frankly, also because I take these changes to study some subjects I am interested in (sue me! 😛).

ENS is my go to example for something novel and useful that Ethereum enables. Instantly propagating private key based DNS.

I would say there's still some degree of centrality for ENS, but it is more decentralized than DNS.
