If your idea is to make something as lean and "from scratch" as possible, I'd use a simple Query Builder instead of an ORM. Something like medoo or Aura.Sql.

Recommend a pre-written framework for basic, local, offline xampp-based software?
Before moving to using full frameworks my go to for this kind of thing was Medoo: https://medoo.in super simple and removed a lot of the headache.
