Looking for recommendations
Pomodoro works ok for me, but definitely feel free to customize it! I do 45 minutes of work and a 20-30 minute break. The break may seem excessive, but it's what works best for me after lots of trial and error. I feel like I'm productive enough to justify it (anyway, without it I'd be getting nothing done lol). If you want to stay away from your screen (or only have your work pulled up), consider getting a timer like this. I like this one because of the visual. If you're ok with using a desktop app, I really like Pomotroid.

Sounds like what you are looking for is a Pomodoro timer. This one is free and open source (FOSS) -> https://github.com/Splode/pomotroid
