Yeah, dymension is good solution, but theirs RDK will be ready at ~2023. And about sharding, asked developers about it at discord, they said, that cosmos doesn't have sharding, it has only the view in the future here - https://github.com/cosmos/cosmos/blob/master/FAQ.md

[Discussion] Use cases for IBC
This is probably a question better suited to be asked to one of the developers, as most people here are not developers, and honestly each developer will likely have a different answer for what they want to do with IBC. It can hard to abstract this information from where it is available. How relayers work in the IBC (Inter-Blockchain Communication Protocol)
I believe this is also why there are developments going underway to help incentivize IBC relayers. https://github.com/cosmos/ibc/tree/master/spec/app/ics-029-fee-payment to help pay relayers with fees, Evmos intentionally cutting the gas needed for certain IBC operations in half, the IBC packet forwarding middleware can offload TXs to more well-funded validators on Cosmos ... etc etc.

Both generic smart contracts, DeFi, and NFTs can be built on a platform like that, specifically for DOGE, or fully interoperable through Cosmos IBC on a generic chain that a Dogecoin peg zone would then connect to.
